Born in Kampala and raised for a time in Cape City, Mamdani later settled with Nair and his father, educational and author Mahmood Mamdani, within the Morningside Heights neighborhood of New York. A graduate of Bronx Excessive Faculty of Science and Bowdoin Faculty, Mamdani can be the primary Muslim mayor of New York Metropolis if elected.
