Olivia Rodrigo has officially embarked on a new chapter – but that doesn’t signify a departure from her devotion to the quintessential feminine pop Gen Z dress style.
This week, the pop sensation unveiled “drop dead,” the inaugural single from her impending album you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love. In tandem, a Petra Collins-directed music video was set in the Palace of Versailles, drawing inspiration from Sofia Coppola’s Marie Antoinette. The video was a fashion extravaganza and densely packed with references. Rodrigo, clad by Chloe and Chenelle Delgadillo, danced through the palace wearing a baby blue chemise and bloomers from Chloé’s pre-fall 2026 collection, as well as a pearl-embellished mini-dress previously donned by the late, iconic Jane Birkin on film.
Rodrigo made an appearance at Feel Karaoke in Los Angeles to commemorate the launch. She was adorned in a delicate pink custom babydoll dress by designer Jane Doe: the mini-dress showcased a charming rounded collar and a pink tulle petticoat. On her feet, she wore white knee-high socks and glossy silver, double-strap Miu Miu pumps. She also carried a Rixo x Dragon Diffusion collaboration spiky black shoulder bag, adding a touch of edginess to the otherwise charming ensemble.
